ITER, an international thermonuclear experimental reactor under construction in France, has entered the stage of assembling the machine. The main components have been manufactured by the participating countries; the equipment is being installed and commissioned. Despite the repeated postponements, the partners are optimistic: the first plasma in ITER is planned for 2025.
Two dozen research institutes and about a hundred industries are working on the project. ITER is a unique example of a successful international collaboration.
Meanwhile, the work of the specialists of NPO GKMP LLC in the field of manufacturing four stands for testing port plugs of the ITER reactor is actively continuing. As of today, according to the production schedule, the first Russian test stand should be completed by the end of this year.
