Sergey Ten: The most crucial sessions of Russia road building industry focused on import substitution

The Exhibition-forum “Road construction in Russia: innovations, technologies, quality.” (12+) was hosted in Moscow from May 18 to 19, 2022 by “ROSASFALTwith support provided by the Ministry ofTransport, the Federal Road Agency, the Public non-profit organization “Russian environmental operator”, the Technical Committee No. 416 “Road maintenance”. The forum was opened by the Aide to the PresidentIgor Levitin, the first deputy to the Minister of transport of the Russian Federation Andrey Kostuk andthe CEO of “Rosavtodor” Roman Novikov. The forum was also attended by the State Duma Deputy, coordinator of the Federal political project “Safe roads” Sergey Ten, reports IrkutskMedia with a reference to the MP press-office.
It is well known that no modern state could function properly without a well-developed highway network. The road network in our country shows sustainable growth. Moreover, the road maintenance remains a driver for the transportation industry and state economy.
“The key issues of the plenary session: strategy for innovative development up to 2025 and application of new technologies and materials in road construction, improvement of the regulatory basis, selection and qualification of alternative materials. I should also particularly mention the role played by the road buildingin the national project “Ecology”, as well as in the Federal project the “Closed-loop economy”. Here we have numerous examples how recycled materials and resources could be used to build roads. Today the special focus is given to the program for professional development, “System-wide measures for road construction development” of the national project “Safe quality roads” and best practices used to instruct experts of the industry – noticed Sergey Ten.
The crucial part of the forum was dedicated to import substitution and solutions that wouldensure efficient innovation in road maintenance.
“There is a substantial progress in production of advanced road construction machinery. We have resumed the mass production of pavers, including those with 9 m paving width. We are also developingdomestic rotary tooling and re-loaders. It has to be noticedthat the share of components purchased abroad does not exceed 5%.
