On December 3 at 18:00, Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, head of the Russian ITER Domestic Agency Anatoly Krasilnikov visited the PostNauki headquarters. This visit made it possible to discuss issues of mutual interest: what is "thermonuclear fusion", how does a thermonuclear reactor work, and is it possible to create an artificial sun using a thermonuclear reactor? The broadcast was conducted by the co-founder of PostNauki Roman Avdeev and PostNauki researcher Ilya Gridnev.
Anatoly Krasilnikov - Doctor of Physics and Mathematics, head of the Russian ITER Domestic Agency. The broadcast was held within the framework of the large project "The Path of the Atom", timed to coincide with the 75th anniversary of the nuclear industry, which is being implemented jointly with Rosatom. This ether is part of "the Atoms of Science guide", which explores atomic research at the forefront of fundamental physics.
It is worth noting that LLC NPO GKMP Machinery & Tools Engineering Group has won the tender, and than on June 17, 2020 detailed design and development contracts were signed and pilot production of components of vacuum stands for testing the upper and equatorial port plug-in (PPTF) in 2020. State Atomic Energy Corporation ROSATOM is identified as the party responsible for the Russian contribution to the project, and the ITER International Organization is the end user.
An extensive database obtained on dozens of tokamaks and modern codes for modeling processes allowed the international community including Russia, the USA, Japan, India, China, South Korea and the European Union to develop a project and begin construction of the ITER International Experimental Thermonuclear Reactor.
Research on the T-15MD facility will provide training for scientific and engineering personnel for the operation of the ITER tokamak and for the implementation of projects to create stationary thermonuclear reactors and promising hybrid systems based on tokamaks in our country.
