The front flange of the PPTF system vacuum chamber body is manufactured at the production of NPO GKMP LLC
Front flange - the complexity of this element lies in the precision of manufacturing - it was required to ensure flatness on the sealing surface of 0.3 mm by 3.5 m, which was achieved and verified using a laser tracker. Further, the front flange must be carefully positioned and welded to the shells. Design and work require special skill, since in the future it is necessary to have the ability to control this structure.
As a reminder, the ITER PPTF project is part of the ITER fusion reactor construction project located in Cadarache, France.
Completion date of construction - 2035.
The start-up date for the first plasma is 2025.
In this project, NPO GKMP LLC is developing a detailed design and pilot production of components for vacuum benches for testing the equatorial and upper port plugs of ITER.
Today, such developments define new achievements in engineering complexity, and we can already observe the production and testing of iron of this level.
